Toned Canvas/Abstract

First we gesso'd the canvas.
Next we toned it with Burnt Sienna.

Our next step was to draw an abstract version of the still life, using mineral spirits to help "erase" any errors.

Draw the Lines

We then started to draw the lines of the objects and paint in the local color.

We then finished trying to match the local color of the objects.
While doing this, we were given more time to fix the lines of the objects in our paintings.

Touch-ups/Shading

The next thing we worked on was making sure all the little things were colored in on the paintings.
We then started the process of shading objects in the picture.

Shading and Light

After we learned how to shade, we started to work on learning how to add light and small details on the objects. This is one of the last chances to get the objects shapes the way we want them.
